Johdon taloudellisen raportoinnin kehittäminen, case Gasum-konserni

Tutkielman aihe syntyi, kun kohdekonsernissa aloitettiin raportointijärjestelmän päivittäminen. Tutkielman päätavoitteena on selvittää, miten kohdekonsernin taloudellisen informaation raportointia voitaisiin kehittää johdon näkökulmasta. Alatavoitteena on tutkia, mitä taloushallinnon tietojärjestelmän tuottamia raportteja kohdekonsernissa käytetään ja mitä taloudellisia raportteja järjestelmän tulisi tuottaa tulevaisuudessa johdolle päätöksenteon tueksi. Tutkielmassa on käytetty konstruktiivista tutkimusmetodologiaa. Konstruktiivisessa tutkimuksessa tuotetaan teoreettisesti perusteltu ratkaisu käytännön kannalta relevanttiin ongelmaan. Tutkimusmenetelmänä on käytetty havainnointia, haastatteluja ja keskusteluja. Haastattelujen avulla selvisi, että nykyinen raportointi ei vastaa käyttäjien informaatiotarvetta. Tutkielman tuloksena saatiinkehitysehdotuksia nykyiselle taloushallinnon tietojärjestelmälle sekä uusia raportteja, joita tulevaisuudessa tulisi tuottaa. Tutkielman avulla käyttäjien informaatiotarpeita saatiin kartoitettua ja tulevaisuudessa raportointi tulee vastaamaan paremmin käyttäjien vaatimuksia.

When the updating of the reporting systems was started in the case concern the bases of thisstudy arose. The main goal of this study is to determine how the financial reporting of the case concern could be developed from the management viewpoint. The second goal is to examine which reports produced by the management information system are used and are there any missing reports that should be produced in the future in order to support the decision making process. Constructive methodologywas used in this study. In constructive study the focus is to find a theoretically argued solution to a practically relevant problem. The methods used in this study are observation, interviews and conversations. The interviews clarified that the existing reporting systems don't fill management's information needs. This study presents development suggestions in order to make the reporting systems more efficient. In addition, this study presents the new reports that should be produced in the future. This study helped to recognize the information needs of the management and in the future the reporting of financial information will serve better the needs of management in the decision making process.
