Development of Order-Delivery Process in Purchasing

Diplomityön tavoitteena oli kehittää Fazer Suklaan oston tilaus-toimitusprosesseja, jotta raaka-aineet ja pakkausmateriaalit pystytään hoitamaan mahdollisimman tehokkaasti. Ensin selvitettiin kirjallisuuden avulla tilaus-toimitusprosessin päävaiheet ja niihin vaikuttavat tekijät. Empiirisessä osassa lähdettiin liikkeelle käymällä läpi Fazer Suklaan oston nykytilanne, joka tehtiin ostajille suunnatun aikaselvityksen, haastatteluiden ja nykyisten tilaus-toimitusprosessien kuvaamisen avulla. Tavoitetilanteen rakentaminen aloitettiin ostettavien materiaalien ja toimittajien luokittelemisella. Tämän perusteella nämä materiaalit voitiin jakaa kolmen eri tilaus toimitusprosessin alle. Automaattisessa tilaus-toimitusprosessissa eri vaiheet automatisoidaan yhdessäavain toimittajien kanssa. Puoliautomaattinen prosessi perustuu systeemiin, jossa toimittaja näkee internetin kautta Fazerin tuotantosuunnitelman ja tekee tämän perusteella materiaalien täydennykset. Yksinkertaisessa prosessissa ostoarvoltaan alhaiset materiaalit hoidetaan mahdollisimman lähellä käyttöpistettä ja prosessin vaiheet tehdään mandollisimman pienellä työmäärällä. Tavoiteprosessien implementoinnilla todettiin suurimmiksi eduiksi prosessivaiheiden vähentyminen ja manuaalisen työn automatisoituminen. Tätä kautta saatiin prosessin eri vaiheiden työmäärää vähennettyä, sekä alennettua varastotasoja ja näin tilaus toimitusprosessin kokonaiskustannuksia pystyttiin pienentämään.

The target of this master's thesis was to develop the order-delivery processes of Fazer Chocolate Ltd.'s purchasing in order to take care of raw materials and packaging materials as efficiently as possible. At first the main phases of the order-delivery process and factors affecting themwere clarified with the help of literature. The empirical part was started with going through the current situation of Fazer Chocolates Ltd.'s purchasing which was made with the help of time analysis directed to buyers, interviews and description of the current order-delivery processes. Building of the target situation was started with classifying materials and suppliers. After this these materials were able to be divided under three different order-delivery processes. In the automatic order-delivery process different phases are automated together with key suppliers. The semi-automatic process is based on the system in which the supplier sees Fazer's production plan in Internet and based on that makes the replacements of materials. In the simplified process low-value materials are managed as near the usage as possible and the phases of the processare done with small amount of work. The greatest advantages with the implementation of the target processes were observed in decreasing of the phases of the process and automatisation of manual work. Through this the amount of work was reduced in different phases of the process and stock levels lowered thus the total costs of the order-delivery process were decreased.
