Test automation in Basic Acceptance Testing of S60 platform

Perushyväksymistestaus on oleellinen osa S60 alustan julkaisukandidaatin maturiteetin seurannassa. Perushyväksymistestausta tehdään myös ohjelmiston julkistamiskelpoisuuden varmistamiseksi. Testaustulokset halutaan aina mahdollisimman nopeasti. Lisäksi testaustiimin työmäärä on hiljalleen kasvanut, koska projekteja onenemmän ja korjauksia sisältäviä ja räätälöityjä settejä testataan enemmän. Tässä diplomityössä tutkitaan lyhentäisikö testisetin osan automatisointi testien ajoaikaa ja helpottaisiko se testaajien työtaakkaa. Tarkastelu toteutetaan automatisoimalla osa testisetistä ja kokemuksia esitellään tässä lopputyössä.

Basic Acceptance Testing results are important in determining the maturity of an S60 platform release candidate. Basic Acceptance Testing is done also to find out if the release candidate is ready for releasing. These results are wanted as soon as possible. The workload of the testing team is alsoincreasing due to multiple projects and increased fix build and custom build testing. This thesis is done to find out if automating part of the test cases would shorten the Basic Acceptance Testing execution time and ease the workload of testers. This is done by implementing a set of automated test cases and executingthem. The experiences are described in this thesis.
