Tuotannon kehittäminen aihiotehtaassa

Työn tavoitteena oli kuvata Artowood Oy:ssä toteutettu tuotannon kehittämishanke sekä arvioida sen nykyistä tuotantoa. Lisäksi käsiteltiin yrityksen asemaa alihankintayrityksenä. Teoriaosuudessa verrattiin eri tuotannonohjausteorioita, käsiteltiin tuotannon ajoitukseen liittyviä kysymyksiä sekä paneuduttiin tuotannon kehittämiseen ja laatuun. Johtopäätöksenä, kehitetty tuotannonohjausjärjestelmä on toimiva nykyisissä olosuhteissa, mutta yrityksen kasvaessaon kiinnitettävä enemmän huomiota tuotannon ajoitusongelmien hallintaan. Lisäksi tuotannon laatua on joka tapauksessa kehitettävä. Artowood Oy on käynnistänyt toimenpiteet oman suoran viennin aloittamiseksi, sillä kotimaan markkinat ovat epävakaat kausivaihteluiden ja kiristyneen kilpailun seurauksena. Vientiprojektinonnistuminen on tärkeää, sillä kotimaassa on liian vähän sellaisia asiakkaita, joilla on tarve Artowood Oy:n tuotantoteknologian kannalta riittävän suurille valmistuserille.

The aim of the thesis was to describe the production development as carried out in Artowood Oy and its current production. Artowood's position as a subcontracting firm was also taken into account. Various production control theories were compared in the theory section, questions related to production scheduling were discussed and more focus was placed on production development and quality. The conclusion reached was the fact that the developed production control system was working well in current conditions, but more attention has to be paid to the problem solving related to production scheduling. The quality of production has to be improved in any case. Artowood has taken steps to start up its direct export, as the domestic market is insecure due to seasonal fluctuations and stiffened competition. The success of the export project is of utmost importance for there are too few such customers at home as require large enough consignments of Artowood technology.
