Lähiverkkojen yhdistäminen ja etäkäyttö

Yrityksillä on toimipisteissään käytössä lähiverkkoja, joiden toivotaan olevan yhtey-dessä toisiinsa, jostoimipisteitä on useita. Työntekijöiden etätyömahdollisuudet tai ainakin järjestelmien ylläpito edellyttävät toimivia etäkäyttöyhteyksiä näihin järjes-telmiin.Työn teoriaosassa tutustutaan lähiverkkojen yhdistämis- ja etäkäyttötapoihin. Käytännön osassa toteutetaan toimipisteiden lähiverkkojen yhdistäminen Internetinkautta VPN-yhteyksillä sekä työntekijöiden etäkäyttöyhteydet Microsoft Windows 2003 Serverin RRAS-palvelulla ja Windows XP:n asiakasohjelmalla. Erityispiirteenä toteutuksessa oli pienen noin kymmenen hengen yrityksen useat toi-mipisteet, joiden lukumäärä ja sijainti vaihtelevat jonkin verran vuosittain. Lisäksi osassatoimipisteistä oli jo valmiiksi lähiverkkojen yhdistämispalvelu pitkällä sopi-muksella. Toteutettu järjestelmä on kuitenkin sellaisenaan sovelias niin pienemmän kuin isommankin kokonaisuuden toteuttamiseen myös ilman näitä erityispiirteitä.

Companies have local area networks, which they usually want to interconnect, if they have multiple offices. Working remotely or at least remote maintenance of such sys-tem presumes good remote connections to these systems. In theory part of this thesis are demonstrated methods for interconnecting and remotely connecting to local area networks. In practical part of the thesis is carried out a system that interconnects sev-eral local area networks of a company with VPN-connections through the Internet. Also remote connections for employees are offered through Microsoft Windows 2003 Server RRAS with Windows XP:s client software. A special feature in this implementation was a small company with several offices, of which amount and location vary slightly through years. Furthermore a share of offices already had a service connecting their LANs and the service was with a long agreement. Carried out system is however suitable for both smaller and bigger im-plementations also without these special features.
