Un santo. Un pueblo. Estudio de la devoción a San Pedro Bautista en San Esteban del Valle.

El conjunto del trabajo busca adentrarse desde la antropología, pero con la ayuda de otras disciplinas, en la devoción de San Esteban del Valle (Ávila) hacia San Pedro Bautista; franciscano natural del mismo pueblo que fue martirizado en Japón a finales del s. XVI. O dicho de otra manera, lo que se pretende mostrar es el rol que San Pedro Bautista ocupa en la forma en que la religión católica se ha configurado en este pueblo abulense.

El conjunt del treball busca endinsar-se des de l'antropologia, però amb l'ajuda d'altres disciplines, en la devoció de Sant Esteve de la Vall (Àvila) cap a Sant Pere Baptista; franciscà natural del mateix poble que va ser martiritzat al Japó a finals del s. XVI. O dit d'una altra manera, el que es pretén mostrar és el rol que Sant Pere Baptista ocupa en la forma en què la religió catòlica s'ha configurat en aquest poble avilès.

The body of work seeks to penetrate from anthropology, but with the help of other disciplines, in the devotion of San Esteban del Valle (Avila) to San Pedro Bautista, a Franciscan from the same village natural who was martyred in Japan in the late s. XVI. Or put another way, which is intended to show the role that San Pedro Bautista holds in the way the Catholic religion has been configured in this town of Avila.
