Traducción médica comentada inglés-español: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome(Joyce King)

El trabajo se divide en tres partes: una traducción del ámbito médico inglés-español; un glosario de términos extraídos del texto con su equivalente en español, y un análisis de los principales problemas de traducción detectado y que son frecuentes en los textos biomédicos, con sus respectivas soluciones.

The information has been divided in three main parts: translation, specialized glossary,and translation problems. In order to elaborate the two last parts, examples from theoriginal text, whose translation poses problems or difficulties, have been extracted. Thesolution to these problems has been found through the consultation of specializedglossaries or dictionaries, and parallel texts. It is important to note that, in order tochoose a terminological equivalent in Spanish, more than once it has been necessary togive preference to frequency of use instead of the traditionally correct and pure term:science moves on fast, and consequently, so does scientific language. The biomedicaltranslator must be permanently updated, so that his/her language is not obsolete.
