Ús social del català: el català als immigrants

Treball de recerca realitzat per alumnes d'ensenyament secundari i guardonat amb un Premi CIRIT per fomentar l'esperit cientí¬fic del Jovent l'any 2009. El treball pretén aconseguir quatre objectius. En primer lloc, comprovar l’estat de la llengua catalana entre els immigrants catalans i cerdanyolencs. Per altra banda, conèixer les institucions o serveis que vetllen per l’extensió de l’ús social del català. També determinar quins factors impulsen la població immigrada a aprendre català. I, per últim, diferenciar l’ús del català entre la població immigrada dels anys 60 i l'actual. La recerca portada ha terme ha mostrat que hi ha un bon nombre de població immigrada de països llatinoamericans i del Nord d’Àfrica que s’interessa per l’aprenentatge del català. El motiu sembla ser laboral i d’integració cultural. En canvi, s’observa que la immigració interna en fa un ús més oral i de relació amb les noves generacions. Alhora, no consideren necessari l’ús del català per a poder viure a Cerdanyola.

Research project carried out by pupils of secondary education and rewarded with a Prize CIRIT to foster the scientific spirit of the Youth in year 2009. This work tries to achieve four objectives. In first place, to check out the use of the Catalan language between the catalan immigrants and Cerdanyola people. On the other hand, to know the institutions or services that watch over the extension of the social use of the Catalan. Also determining which factors promote the population immigrated to learn Catalan. And, finally, differentiating the use of the Catalan among the immigrated population from the sixties and the current one. The research shows that there is a good number of population immigrated of Latin American countries and of the North of Africa that becomes interested in the learning of the Catalan. The reason seems to be occupational and for cultural integration. However, it is observed that the internal immigration makes a use more oral and for its relationship with the new generations. The study also shows that they do not consider the use of the Catalan necessary to be able to live in Cerdanyola.
