Estando o Estado vinculado às comunidades portuguesas no estrangeiro, a sua rede consular é desde sempre o grande divulgador e impulsionador da cultura e língua portuguesa nas comunidades lusófonas no Mundo. Mais do que simples postos oficiais, estes serviços consulares são muitas vezes os grandes difusores e impulsionadores da cultura, língua e turismo de Portugal. O presente relatório visa demonstrar as diferentes abordagens da linguagem diplomática e jurídica e o seu papel na tradução de documentos administrativos no contexto da diplomacia e língua. Este relatório pretende igualmente dar a conhecer o funcionamento da Instituição de acolhimento onde foi realizado o estágio curricular, o Consulado Geral de Portugal em Paris, descrevendo e exemplificando todas as tarefas aí realizadas.

The Portuguese State main purpose abroad is to serve as principal connection for the communication and integration of the Portuguese communities. Its consular network has always been the great promoter and supporter of the Portuguese culture and language in the Portuguese Lusophone communities in the world. More than just official post, these consular services are often the big broadcasters and promoters of the Portuguese culture, language and tourism. The aim of this report is to demonstrate the different approaches of the diplomatic and legal language and its role in the translation of administrative documents relating to diplomacy and language. It also aims to explain the functioning of the host institution where it was held the traineeship, the General Consulate of Portugal in Paris, describing and illustrating all the tasks undertaken.
