Requalificação do Palacete Manuel Rodrigues Alves: re – integração do Palacete no quotidiano da cidade

O trabalho de projeto que se segue representa uma reflexão sobre a relevância que os Emigrantes Brasileiros tiveram no desenvolvimento da cidade de Fafe, principalmente através das suas habitações. Conhecida por ser a cidade mais brasileira de Portugal, Fafe é provida de vários exemplares desta arquitetura, apesar de muitos deles se encontrarem devolutos e em degradação avançada, como é o caso do Palacete Manuel Rodrigues Alves. Concluído em 1912, o Palacete é um dos edifícios emblemáticos da cidade. Caracterizado por uma arquitetura ímpar, situa-se num dos eixos de maior afluência. É dos Palacetes mais ricos na cidade ao nível de composição arquitetónica, quer no exterior como no interior do edifício, apesar de ser de menor dimensão, por comparação aos outros dois exemplares existentes. Por este motivo e por ser dos edifícios que se encontra mais degradado elegeu-se o Palacete Manuel Rodrigues Alves como caso de estudo. Pretende-se, com este projeto, devolver ao edifício um novo carácter e uso por via de uma reabilitação, não só solucionando as patologias existentes no edifício em estudo, mas também requalificando-o para um novo uso no quotidiano na cidade de Fafe.

The following work project represents a reflection about the relevance that Brazilian emigrants had in the development of the city of Fafe, mainly through their homes. Known for being the most Brazilian city of Portugal, Fafe has various examples of this kind of architecture, although many of them are unoccupied and in a serious state of degradation, as the Manuel Rodrigues Alves Palace. Finished in 1912, this Palace is one of the most iconic buildings of the city. Characterized by a unique architecture, is located in one of the busiest axes of the city. Of all the richest palaces of the city, in terms of architectural composition, both within and outside the building. This one is the smaller, comparing to the other two existing in the city. For this reason, and for being one of the more degraded buildings, was elected the Manuel Rodrigues Alves as case study. The aim of this project, return to building a new character and use by means of a rehabilitation, not only solving the existing conditions in the building but also requalifying it for a new use in daily life in the city of Fafe.
