Linguagem médica e linguagem televisiva: uma guerra aberta ou uma convivência pacífica?

Como se estrutura um programa de televisão? Como se informa sobre uma temática tão específica e susceptível como saúde e como o cancro? Como é a relação entre campo da saúde e campo do jornalismo? As questão estiveram na origem da minha tese de mestrado em Informação e Jornalismo. O estágio na SIC Porto colocou-me em contacto com a dinâmica de uma redacção, uma realidade nova para mim, que me permitiu compreender a produção de informação em televisão, para além do campo teórico. Durante o estágio tive contacto com várias fases da informação, desde a produção, até à pósprodução, observando de perto todas as rotinas. Sair para o terreno com os jornalistas e com repórteres de imagem fez parte das minhas actividades. Tive oportunidade de acompanhar vários jornalistas em trabalhos relacionados com a temática da saúde. Para além de observar o jornalista no cumprimento das suas funções, houve outro aspecto que me despertou curiosidade. O modo como as fontes se comportavam face à presença das câmaras e dos jornalistas. Com este estudo quis conhecer melhor a interacção entre campo da saúde e campo da informação televisiva. Sendo os media promotores e mediadores de informação que a audiência recebe, e sendo a saúde um tema com relevância, escolhi como objecto de estudo o programa “Vencer o Cancro”, um programa diferente no panorama nacional, com produção externa à SIC, mas concretizada por profissionais ligados à estação. A escolha não foi inocente. O programa é um aposta pouco comum. A informação sobre saúde não é uma realidade, mesmo nos canais por cabo dedicados à informação, o que me levou a reflectir sobre o jornalismo televisivo ligado a esta temática. Após a descrição da minha experiência de estágio, apresentei linhas teóricas e os conceitos que sustentam a minha investigação, nomeadamente, Comunicação, Saúde, Jornalismo, Fontes de informação. Houve ainda espaço para abordar a relação entre os dois campos em estudo, bem como para traçar uma perspectiva crítica acerca do meio em análise, a televisão. O estudo empírico baseou-se nos oito programas da segunda série de “Vencer o Cancro”. Nesta fase foi analisado o formato do programa, a sua recepção junto do público, bem como as fontes de informação e a conjugação entre o texto e a imagem exibidos nas peças.

How to structure a TV Show? How we report on an issue as specific such as health and cancer? How is the relationship between health and journalism? These questions formed the basis of my master's thesis in Journalism and Information. The internship in SIC Porto put me in touch with the dynamics of a newsroom. A new reality for me that allowed to understand the production of information in television, beyond the theoretical field. During the internship I had contact with several stages of information from production, to postproduction, watching closely all the routines. Exit to the ground with journalists and camera operator was part of my activities. I was able to follow several journalists as they work in topics related to healthcare. In addition to observing the journalist in fulfilling their duties, there was another aspect that I aroused curiosity. The way the different sources behaved in the presence of cameras and journalists. With this study I wanted to understand better the interaction between the area of health and information. Since media are promoters and intermediaries of information that the audience receives, and being health an issue of relevance, I choose as a subject of study the TV Show "Vencer o Cancro" (Beating Cancer), a different program on the Portuguese television landscape, with production outside SIC, but achieved by professionals linked to the station. The choice was not innocent. The program is an unusual bet. The health information is not a reality, even in cable channels dedicated to information, which led me to reflect on the television journalism on this subject. After the description of my internship experience, I presented theoretical lines and concepts that support my research such as Communication, Health, Journalism, Information Sources. After I discussed the relationship between the two fields under study and drew a critical perspective on television. The empirical study was based on the eight programs of the second season of "Beating Cancer". At this stage, we investigated the format of the program, its reception by the public, as well as sources of information and connection between the text and the image displayed in parts.
