Valorização patrimonial e urbana de Braga através da criação de circuitos turísticos

A cidade de Braga assume-se cada vez mais como uma referência turística do Norte de Portugal, nomeadamente pelo valioso património histórico e arquitetónico que possui. Apesar de estar presente um pouco por todo o concelho, é no centro histórico que grande parte deste património está concentrado. Paralelamente à herança cultural, o centro histórico possui uma grande área pedonal, reflexo das intervenções de regeneração e requalificação urbana que têm vindo a ser feitas nos últimos vinte anos, melhorando as condições para a mobilidade pedestre e para quem pretende visitar o casco antigo sem constrangimentos de trânsito nas artérias centrais. De igual modo, desde 2011, o sector urbano sul, que abrange uma área de trinta hectares a sul do Rio Este, sofreu uma intervenção profunda de reabilitação urbana e paisagística, tornandose numa importante área de lazer. Tendo como base de trabalho o centro histórico de Braga e a zona sul da cidade, o principal objetivo geral deste trabalho passa pela valorização patrimonial e urbana de Braga através da criação de dois circuitos turísticos. Um dos circuitos será na componente do walking tour e o outro circuito na componente da segway tour. O circuito de walking tour, direcionado para o touring cultural e citadino, incide sobre o património arquitetónico e urbanístico de Braga existente no centro histórico. O circuito em segway, direcionado para o tour paisagístico, contemplando igualmente a componente patrimonial, foi projetado para a zona sul da cidade nos três locais específicos incluídos no Programa Estratégico de Reabilitação Urbana de Braga Sul (PERUBS), designadamente o Monte do Picoto, o Parque de São João da Ponte e margens do Rio Este/Sítio dos Galos. Para além do levantamento do património arquitetónico e urbanístico localizado nos locais por onde passará o circuito em segway, procedeu-se também ao acompanhamento in sítu das obras de requalificação destes locais de modo a verificar quais as melhores condições de mobilidade para a utilização do segway. Posteriormente, procedemos à implementação dos circuitos, através da contabilização das distâncias e tempos e da realização de alguns testes no terreno. Por fim efetuamos também a realização de duas simulações, com o intuito de obter algum feedback e traçamos algumas linhas de divulgação e dinamização dos circuitos.

Braga grows up more and more as a tourist reference in Northern Portugal, mainly due to the city’s historical value and architectural heritage. While it is present all over the county, is in the historic center that many of this heritage is concentrated. Parallel to the cultural heritage, the historic center has a large pedestrian area, reflecting the regeneration interventions and urban regeneration that have been made in the last twenty years, improving conditions for pedestrian mobility and for those visiting the old town without traffic constraints in the central area. Similarly, since 2011, the south urban area of the city, covering an area of thirty acres south of the river Este, underwent a profound intervention and rehabilitation of the urban area and the landscape, making it an important recreation area. Having as basis the historic center of Braga and the south of the city, the main goal of this project involves the enrichment of heritage and urban recovery Braga by creating two tours. One of the tours will be in a walking tour component and the other tour on the segway tour component. The walking tour circuit, directed to the cultural and city touring, focuses on the architectural and urban heritage on the historic center. The segway tour, directed to the landscape tour, also contemplating the heritage component, is designed for the south of the city on the three specific sites included in PERUBS, namely the Monte do Picoto, the St. John's Bridge Park and River banks Este / Site of Roosters. In addition to the survey of the architectural and urban heritage located at the places where would the Segway tour take place, we were also monitoring the rehabilitation works in loco of these sites to check if the best conditions of mobility for the use of the Segway were provided. Later, we proceed to the implementation of the tours through the account of distances and times and conducting some tests on the ground. We also made two simulations in order to get some feedback and opinions to fill some gaps that may come up.
