Development of suberin films driven by an ionic liquid-based depolymerisation process Renewable resources are currently under intense investigation for a variety of different uses, for example as energy sources, for the extraction of value-added chemicals and for the production of novel materials. Nature offers an outstanding diversity of inimitable molecules to serve as starting blocks for the production of such materials.
