Resumo

A Work Project, presented as part of the requirements for the Award of a Masters Degree in Management from the NOVA – School of Business and Economics

This work project's main objective is to identify the motivations behind the strategic alliance between Harley-Davidson and Porsche. In that sense, this paper includes a case study on the specific context of that collaboration and a literature review as the basis of its analysis. As a result, the major conclusion was that the drivers of that alliance indeed agreed with the general theories on the matter. Factors as venturing on new segments of the market or having access to unique resources worked in favor of this partnership, as Harley's new engine and motorcycle proved to be a global success.
