No limite a alma: ensaio sobre um objecto artístico/instalação: trabalho de projecto

Trabalho de Projeto submetido à Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema para cumprimento dos requisitos necessários à obtenção do grau de Mestre em Teatro - especialização em Design de Cena.

O presente documento é um ensaio que pretende, nos termos do regulamento geral da especialização do mestrado em teatro - design de cena da ESTC, enquadrar e justificar o processo e o objeto original projetado pela candidata após ter escolhido a opção Trabalho de Projeto como objeto final conferente de grau. O Trabalho de Projeto proposto pela candidata é um objeto artístico que podemos identificar como uma Instalação que integra elementos arquitetónicos e multimédia. O presente documento descreve o processo criativo que levou à sua conceção, apresentando e desenvolvendo todas as questões que de alguma forma estiveram ou vieram a estar relacionadas com a orientação das opções tomadas, assim como faculta também o conjunto de dados técnicos que permitem proceder à montagem da dita Instalação. Intitulado “ No limite, a alma”, este objeto artístico deixa adivinhar, por opção da candidata, uma base filosófica como suporte. É sua intenção que a Instalação proporcione uma hiperexperiência estética e imersiva, mas que, simultaneamente nas “entrelinhas” se sinta a presença da filosofia que lhe é inerente. Questões que se prendem com a problemática do processo criativo e a materialização das ideias, assim como questões relacionadas com a experiência do conhecimento e com a memória do espaço, vão ter uma presença velada na Instalação, revelada ou apontada no discurso. Tratando-se de uma criação artística, o processo descrito tem características muito pessoais, o que lhe confere um discurso muito próprio, garante da sua originalidade. A instalação resulta assim numa extensão do imaginário da candidata, onde se cruzam, se sobrepõem e se potencializam todas as visões da autora. O objeto projetado pretende assim fundir num espaço poético a produção criativa e a respetiva fonte de inspiração que ocorreu num dado período de tempo. O ritmo, a luz, a cor, e o som são os elementos principais que imergirão o espetador na experiência, tendo sido o Videoarte o suporte escolhido para a sua coordenação. As características da edificação que integra as projeções do referido Videoarte contribuem também para um tipo de envolvência que convida ao estado imersivo. O discurso produzido ampliará a dita experiência e fará a ponte para o universo criativo da candidata.

ABSTRACT - This document is an essay that intends, in accordance with the general regulations of the Master’s degree in Theatre Scene Design of the ESTC (Superior School of Theatre and Cinema), to frame and justify the process and the original object designed by the candidate, after choosing the option “Project Work” as a final assignment work for the attribution of a Master’s degree. The Project Work proposed by the candidate is an artistic object that can be identified as an Installation that integrates architectural and multimedia features. This document describes the creative process that led to its design, by presenting and developing all matters which were, or came to be, linked with the guidelines of the options that were taken, as well as providing the technical data set that allows assembling of the Installation. Entitled “No limite, a alma” (“Ultimately, the soul”), this artistic object allows one to understand, a philosophical basis as a support, by choice of the candidate. It is to be intended that the Installation provides an aesthetic and immersive hyper-experience, but simultaneously one feels the philosophical presence inherent “between the lines”. Questions regarding the problematic issues of the creative process and materialization of ideas, as well as questions related to the experience of knowledge and memory of space, will have a veiled presence in the Installation, revealed or openly disclosed in speech. As an artistic creation, the process described has its personal characteristics, which confers on it an individual discourse ensuring its originality. The Installation thus results in an extension of the imagination of the candidate, where it intersects, overlaps and empowers all the views of the author. The designed object thus intends to merge in a poetic space, the creative production and its source of inspiration that occurred in a certain period of time. Rhythm, light, color and sound are the main elements that will immerse the spectator in the experience, Videoart being the chosen support for their coordination. The characteristics of the edification that integrate the projections of the Videoart referred to above, also contribute to a type of involvement that draws one to an immersive state. The speech produced will broaden the experience mentioned and will construct the bridge for the creative universe of the candidate.
