This is the text of the lecture given in the University of Vienna, 29th October 2009 In this paper I intend to give an answer to the questions: How did justice, violent crimes and their representations change in the 19th century, Algarve? How did justice contribute to produce new gender relations or, on the contrary, to reproduce the ancient patriarchal dominance? |
