Agricultura urbana, condición para el desarrollo sostenible y la mejora del paisaje

Este artículo resulta de investigaciones en torno al “enverdecimiento” de las ciudades y las oportunidades de la agricultura urbana para la alimentación de una población en constante aumento que no trabaja la tierra. También es fruto de actividades de mejora de ambientes urbanos realizadas con la Escuela de Ingenieros Agrónomos de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. A través de casos de agricultura urbana, entendiendo por ella el conjunto de prácticas para la producción de alimentos y plantas ornamentales dentro de las ciudades y en sus entornos, se analizan alternativas para la recuperación de espacios construidos e incremento de la calidad de vida de la población. Todo ello se traduce, además, en creación de riqueza y mejora del paisaje urbano, siempre desde criterios de sostenibilidad que favorecen el desarrollo local desde la Cumbre de la Tierra de Río de 1992 y la Conferencia sobre Desarrollo Sostenible Río+20 de 2013. This paper is from investigations for planning urban greenspace and the opportunities of urban agriculture for the feeding of a population in constant increase that does not work the lands. Also it is result of activities of environmental urban improvement carried out with the “School of Engineer Agronomists of the Polytechnic University of Madrid”. Through cases of urban agriculture, understanding by her the set of practices for the food production and ornamental plants in downtowns and in their surroundings, this paper analyze alternatives for the recovery of constructed spaces and increase the quality of life of theirs inhabitants. All this contributes to the creation of wealth and improvement of the urban landscape, always in agreement with criteria of sustainability coming from the Earth Conference of Rio (1992) and the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio+20 (2013). Cet article résulte de recherches autour du verdissement des villes et des opportunités de l'agriculture urbaine pour l'alimentation d'une population en grandissement continu qui ne travaille pas la terre. C´est encore la conséquence d´actions d´amélioration de l´environnement urbain engagés avec l ´Ecole d´Ingénieurs Agronomes de l'Université Polytechnique de Madrid. Moyennant l`étude de cas d'agriculture urbaine, ayant compte qu´il s´agit de l'ensemble de pratiques pour la production d´aliments et de plantes d'ornement dans les villes et leurs alentours, on y analyse des alternatives pour la récupération des espaces construits et la qualité de vie de leurs habitants. Tout cela contribue à la création de richesse et l´amélioration du paysage urbain, toujours en accord avec les critères de développement durable issus de la Conférence de la Terre de Rio de 1992 et la Conférence sur le Développement Durable de Río+20, de 2013. |
