Resumo

The surface structure of glassy carbon electrode subjected to "galvanostat" pretreat- ment and its electrocatalytic behaviour in the presence of ascorbic acid, catechol and hydroquinone were studied by means of cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, chronocoulometry and scanning electron microscopy. The electrocatalytic mechanism was discussed, which was due to the adsorption and the catalysis of functional groups at the electrode surface.
