Afirmar-se que hoje existe mais indisciplina nas escolas do que aquela que existia no passado é já um discurso ritual em educadores e educandos. Embora se admita algum empolamento nessa afirmação, a verdade é que esta problemática está na ordem do dia. A frequência e a visibilidade de actos perturbadores do processo pedagógico, que no limite visam o professor na sua pessoa e na sua autoridade, catapultam-nos para o conjunto de preocupações centrais da comunidade educativa. Este trabalho procura dar conta de como professores de Educação Física e alunos dos Açores entendem e classificam o fenómeno. Procura perceber qual a orientação predominante que tomam os comportamentos de indisciplina num ambiente de aula com maior mobilidade e com actividades que por vezes apelam a contacto físico e/ou envolvem a produção de barulhos, aspectos, entre outros, que distinguem as aulas de Educação Física da maioria das restantes disciplinas escolares. Participaram no estudo 4 199 alunos dos 2° e 3° Ciclos do Ensino Básico e do Ensino secundário e 117 professores distribuídos por 30 escolas do Arquipélago dos Açores. As representações acerca da indisciplina em aulas de Educação Física foram estudadas através de inquérito por questionário. Os resultados evidenciam que no entendimento e na classificação do fenómeno da indisciplina a dimensão relacional surge de forma continuada tanto em professores como em alunos, apesar de algumas diferenças encontradas entre as concepções destes dois grupos. Verificou-se também que, na perspectiva dos alunos, os comportamentos mais graves são os que implicam colisão com a pessoa do professor. Contudo, em regra, os professores parecem deter um juízo de eficácia positivo acerca das suas actuações disciplinares.

The present dissertation is inserted in the internationalization of the university-level education research field and aimed to analyze the strategies and internationalization actions of the Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR), locus of research. The study sought to establish the current context in which the internationalization is inserted and contextualize the research problematic presenting definitions, concepts, reasons and strategies linked to an international dimension. It also presents a historical context of the internationalization of Brazil and current public policies related to this topic. This research used content analysis to analyze institutional documents (Institutional Development Plans (2004-2017) and Management Reports (2000-2014)); semi-structured interviews (Director of International Relations, Coordinator of programs and actions related to the mobility of students, Head of the Department of Education and Dean of Research and Graduate Studies); information pertaining to the theme from the university’s website and events held in the Campus of the institution. Data were analyzed using the procedures prescribed for this type of analysis with the establishment of three categories: concepts, strategies and actions. Based on the foregoing, in terms of synthesis, could be understood that increasing the participation of UTFPR on the international scene has always been linked to the institution’s policies and goals, yet without an political institutional plan without objectives, strategies and goals established systematically. In the case of the conception of the internationalization of UTFPR it was realized that the theme currently gained more focus and greater coverage in the institution. In this context, Ciência Sem Fronteiras program contributed to, giving greater visibility to UTFPR on the world stage. From then on, specific strategies and actions are being developed in seeking internationalization under institutional perspective, of the servers, the expansion of mobility, and greater visibility of the institution in the international arena, regional integration and promotion of internationalization at the university. Overall, the management of internationalization in the institution does not have a formal project, but has specific strategies and actions seeking their expansion. Thus, the process of internationalization in UTFPR presents itself in an early stage, with strategies and actions seeking to expand the international dimension in the institution who takes singular importance to its expansion and consolidation.

A designação de polipo maligno significa a presença de um adenoma com um foco de carcinoma que invade a submucosa (carcinoma invasivo). Este tempo é habitualmente utilizado quando um polipo que foi ressecado por via endoscópica, se vem a comprovar, após exame histológico, conter carcinoma invasivo. A incidência de polipos malignos, removidos endoscopicamente, é em média de 4,7% (0,2-9,4%). O risco de malignidade está associado à dimensão, localização e configuração histológica. A abordagem terapêutica dum polipo maligno varia entre uma atitude conservadora, considerando a polipectomia tratamento adequado e suficiente e uma atitude cirúrgica de ressecção complementar, no caso contrário. A ressecção cirúrgica deverá tomar em conta os riscos potenciais de carcinoma residual e/ ou metastático da lesão excisada em comparação com o risco potencial, em termos de mobilidade e mortalidade, do próprio acto cirúrgico. A ressecção endoscópica de um polipo maligno pediculado, constitui habitualmente tratamento curativo, desde que esteja assegurada a sua excisão completa, com uma margem livre de ressecção e que o carcinoma não seja pouco diferenciado ou indiferenciado (grau III) e não exista invasão linfática ou vascular. O risco de doença metastática nesta situação é de 0,3%. Um polipo maligno sessil ressecado endoscopicamente possui maior risco de metastização (1,5%), mesmo com critérios histológicos favoráveis. A ressecção cirúrgica complementar deverá ser contemplada, em doentes cujo risco cirúrgico seja inferior ao risco de metastização. Cada caso deverá ser considerado individualmente, devendo a abordagem terapêutica ser devidamente ponderada pelos médicos intervenientes (gastrenterologista, anatomopatologista, cirurgião), em função dos riscos e beneficio de eventual ressecção cirúrgica complementar, após discussão com o doente e/ ou seus familiares.

O presente estudo tem por objetivo estimar a relação entre poupança e investimento no curto prazo. Os dados utilizados ficam restritos ao Brasil, no período que varia entre 1996 e 2013. A fim de satisfazer tal finalidade, será estimado um modelo vetor autorregressivo, com base na literatura empírica do modelo Feldstein e Horioka. O resultado obtido indica uma grande mobilidade de capitais para Brasil, em conformidade a não existência de uma relação de precedência temporal (Causalidade de Granger) para as variáveis. Por meio da decomposição da variância é possível inferir também que as variáveis são responsáveis pelas suas próprias variações ao longo do tempo. Ainda, as conclusões obtidas refutam a validade do Enigma Feldstin e Horioka, de que países industrializados teriam uma pequena mobilidade de capitais.

O projecto ECONewFARMERS, em parceria com países da União Europeia (Hungria, Espanha, Itália, Turquia, Reino Unido e Eslováquia) tem como foco principal melhorar a qualidade e desempenho dos sistemas de ensino e formação profissional de modo a reforçar a dimensão europeia em agricultura biológica. O conhecimento e a formação técnica são essenciais para a adoção da agricultura biológica, pelo que o projecto “ECONewFARMERS – Construir o futuro com novos agricultores em modo de produção biológica através de formação vocacional” pretende contribuir para a capacitação técnica de agricultores que queiram converter-se ou iniciar uma exploração em agricultura biológica e disponibilizar ferramentas m-learning (aprendizagem em contextos de mobilidade) que permitam melhorar a sua capacidade de intervenção e de inovação. Deste modo, pretendeu-se com este trabalho caraterizar as práticas agrícolas utilizadas por agricultores familiares no concelho de Viseu e avaliar a proximidade destes itinerários técnicos com a agricultura biológica de modo a identificar as necessidades de formação destes (ou de novos) agricultores. A identificação das práticas agrícolas foi efetuada com base numa checklist que foi aplicada a 30 agricultores cujas explorações têm dimensão igual ou inferior a 2 hectares, com mão-de-obra constituída pelo agregado familiar e cujos rendimentos sejam maioritariamente provenientes da exploração.

Nowadays there is a huge evolution in the technological world and in the wireless networks. The electronic devices have more capabilities and resources over the years, which makes the users more and more demanding. The necessity of being connected to the global world leads to the arising of wireless access points in the cities to provide internet access to the people in order to keep the constant interaction with the world. Vehicular networks arise to support safety related applications and to improve the traffic flow in the roads; however, nowadays they are also used to provide entertainment to the users present in the vehicles. The best way to increase the utilization of the vehicular networks is to give to the users what they want: a constant connection to the internet. Despite of all the advances in the vehicular networks, there were several issues to be solved. The presence of dedicated infrastructure to vehicular networks is not wide yet, which leads to the need of using the available Wi-Fi hotspots and the cellular networks as access networks. In order to make all the management of the mobility process and to keep the user’s connection and session active, a mobility protocol is needed. Taking into account the huge number of access points present at the range of a vehicle for example in a city, it will be beneficial to take advantage of all available resources in order to improve all the vehicular network, either to the users and to the operators. The concept of multihoming allows to take advantage of all available resources with multiple simultaneous connections. This dissertation has as objectives the integration of a mobility protocol, the Network-Proxy Mobile IPv6 protocol, with a host-multihoming per packet solution in order to increase the performance of the network by using more resources simultaneously, the support of multi-hop communications, either in IPv6 or IPv4, the capability of providing internet access to the users of the network, and the integration of the developed protocol in the vehicular environment, with the WAVE, Wi-Fi and cellular technologies. The performed tests focused on the multihoming features implemented on this dissertation, and on the IPv4 network access for the normal users. The obtained results show that the multihoming addition to the mobility protocol improves the network performance and provides a better resource management. Also, the results show the correct operation of the developed protocol in a vehicular environment.

The last couple of decades have been the stage for the introduction of new telecommunication networks. It is expected that in the future all types of vehicles, such as cars, buses and trucks have the ability to intercommunicate and form a vehicular network. Vehicular networks display particularities when compared to other networks due to their continuous node mobility and their wide geographical dispersion, leading to a permanent network fragmentation. Therefore, the main challenges that this type of network entails relate to the intermittent connectivity and the long and variable delay in information delivery. To address the problems related to the intermittent connectivity, a new concept was introduced – Delay Tolerant Network (DTN). This architecture is built on a Store-Carry-and-Forward (SCF) mechanism in order to assure the delivery of information when there is no end-to-end path defined. Vehicular networks support a multiplicity of services, including the transportation of non-urgent information. Therefore, it is possible to conclude that the use of a DTN for the dissemination of non-urgent information is able to surpass the aforementioned challenges. The work developed focused on the use of DTNs for the dissemination of non-urgent information. This information is originated in the network service provider and should be available on mobile network terminals during a limited period of time. In order to do so, four different strategies were deployed: Random, Least Number of Hops First (LNHF), Local Rarest Bundle First (LRBF) e Local Rarest Generation First (LRGF). All of these strategies have a common goal: to disseminate content into the network in the shortest period of time and minimizing network congestion. This work also contemplates the analysis and implementation of techniques that reduce network congestion. The design, implementation and validation of the proposed strategies was divided into three stages. The first stage focused on creating a Matlab emulator for the fast implementation and strategy validation. This stage resulted in the four strategies that were afterwards implemented in the DTNs software Helix – developed in a partnership between Instituto de Telecomunicac¸˜oes (IT) and Veniam R , which are responsible for the largest operating vehicular network worldwide that is located in Oporto city. The strategies were later evaluated on an emulator that was built for the largescale testing of DTN. Both emulators account for vehicular mobility based on information previously collected from the real platform. Finally, the strategy that presented the best overall performance was tested on a real platform – in a lab environment – for concept and operability demonstration. It is possible to conclude that two of the implemented strategies (LRBF and LRGF) can be deployed in the real network and guarantee a significant delivery rate. The LRBF strategy has the best performance in terms of delivery. However, it needs to add a significant overhead to the network in order to work. In the future, tests of scalability should be conducted in a real environment in order to confirm the emulator results. The real implementation of the strategies should be accompanied by the introduction of new types of services for content distribution.

Objective: To evaluate the functional status of elderly residents in long-term institutions. Methods: Exploratory-descriptive study, developed in two long-term care institutions for the elderly (LTC), in city of Fortaleza, Ceará. The instruments utilized were: 1) Sociodemographic form, 2) Functional Independence Measure (FIM), and 3) International Classification of Functioning (ICF). Data was descriptively analyzed through the calculation of frequency, mean and standard deviation. Results: There was a predominance of males (n=47; 59.49%), with mean age of 74.58 (± 8.89) years, 68.35% (n=54) have been or are married, and 49.37% (n=39) are illiterate. In reference to the FIM, it was observed that the elderly perform the activities in a complete or modified mode and 18.99% (n=15) have difficulty climbing stairs. As to the association between the FIM and the ICF, in relation to self-care, it was seen that 96.20% (n=76) have no difficulty in performing tasks; 92.40% (n=73) move around without difficulty; and 98.73% (n=78) have preserved the cognition. In relation to the capacity of maintaining and controlling social interactions, all exhibit this domain preserved. Conclusion: The surveyed elderly presented good cognitive status and little dependence in activities regarding personal care, mobility and communication. The use of the ICF allows the visualization of the functionality scenario among the elderly, what can facilitate more effective health promotion strategies for this population.
