This study aimed to the development of cassava mashed with added maltodextrin of waxy maize starch as an alternative to the semi-ready product. The experimental design was completely randomized using blocks in 4x7 factorial, with three replications. The treatments were the combination of maltodextrin concentrations added in the cassava mass (0, 5, 10 and 15% on dry weight) with storage time (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 days after preparation) and two condition (environment and refrigerated temperature). The variety chosen to the processing was the IAC 576-70. The data were subjected to variance analysis. The means were compared by Tukey test at 5%. The content of maltodextrin from waxy maize starch to 15% was effective in controlling the increase of texture. The mass of cassava with the addition of maltodextrin showed to be product of easy preparation, showin IAC 576-70g viability to be produced in industrial scale.

O projeto de Extensão Espaços Livres na Escola busca contribuir com o bem estar dos usuários, permitindo a estimulação dos sentidos, através da cor, textura, sabor, fragrância, luz e som ali presentes. A “aprendizagem emocional” ocorre como uma experiência não articulada. O brincar é a maneira como as crianças estabelecem relação com o mundo físico e social, em um cenário multissensorial, estimulando o desenvolvimento da mente, corpo e espírito. Entre as características essenciais presentes no jardim educativo podemos citar a relação entre o programa de necessidades e o ambiente, na escala da criança; a relação entre a idade e quantidade de crianças, além de oferecer aos usuários uma variedade de opções e a oportunidade de fazer escolhas, possibilitando a manipulação e permitindo o contato social, inserido no espaço junto à natureza. Portanto, o objetivo principal é a elaboração de um projeto paisagístico para um espaço livre escolar que busque um melhor desempenho ecológico, além de servir como estímulo à aprendizagem e à sociabilidade entre as crianças. Após consulta à Secretaria de Planejamento da Prefeitura Municipal de Bauru, averiguou-se que a Escola Municipal de Educação Infantil Integrada – EMEII Garibaldo, localizada no jardim Santana, em Bauru – SP, fora reinaugurada, havendo interesse na implantação do projeto de extensão universitária. Tendo como ponto de partida o levantamento bibliográfico sobre o tema, questionários aplicados aos funcionários, desenhos elaborados pelos alunos e a análise da edificação e de seu funcionamento, chegou-se a uma proposta de intervenção para as áreas livres como também alterações na edificação, depois de realizadas visitas técnicas à escola. Como metodologia para chegar a uma análise mais crítica do ambiente escolar, levou-se em consideração a opinião dos usuários do edifício - alunos e funcionários – sendo proposta uma atividade de desenho às crianças, evidenciando o que mais gostavam e o que menos gostavam na escola, além de desenhar como gostariam que fosse a escola. A turma selecionada para esta atividade apresentava uma faixa etária de 5 a 6 anos, num total de 17 crianças. Aos funcionários da instituição foi distribuído um questionário para que eles atribuíssem valores de acordo com as problemáticas abordadas. Foi realizada a tabulação dos questionários, com a aplicação do Diagrama de Paretto. A proposta de intervenção foi apresentada aos usuários, discutindo os principais pontos a serem revistos. O terreno da escola ocupa uma quadra completa, tendo em frente uma pequena praça. A vegetação de grande porte é suficiente para toda a área livre, no entanto foi necessário um tratamento paisagístico em escala mais reduzida, com o uso de gramíneas e arbustos de pequeno e médio porte. O uso de diferentes escalas foi importante não apenas na escolha da vegetação, mas também no emprego de diversos materiais, cores e espaços. Os resultados apresentados no projeto incluem a reforma de pisos, jardins, proposição de um novo layout para o playground e propostas para uma melhor organização dos ambientes, buscando dar ênfase à criação de uma identidade visual ao espaço, sem perder de vista a importância do ato criativo das crianças como parte do ambiente de aprendizagem. Além disso, buscou-se incentivar as atividades voltadas à sensibilização e conscientização das crianças quanto ao ambiente, estabelecendo conexões entre horticultura, paisagismo e educação ambiental, com a criação de uma pequena horta, que poderá ser abordada em aulas relacionadas à alimentação, aos sentidos, reciclagem, técnicas agrícolas e preservação do ambiente, valorizando “o fazer” dos alunos. As atividades realizadas demonstram a importância de estabelecermos vínculos entre a Universidade e a comunidade, com a aplicação das pesquisas realizadas. A experiência no ensino de Paisagismo, enriquecedora e instigante, busca levar os discentes a imprimir em seus projetos os valores estéticos, ambientais, funcionais e sociais. O Projeto de Extensão “Espaços Livres na Escola” também permite que levemos esta experiência à comunidade, buscando despertar a consciência e o respeito pela natureza, ao mesmo tempo em que estamos contribuindo, de maneira mais efetiva, na formação da paisagem urbana. No dia 30 de novembro de 2009, a análise e as propostas da extensão universitária “Espaços Livres na Escola” foram apresentadas pelo bolsista e os projetos entregues à diretora da EMEII Garibaldo, com o objetivo de contribuir para sua implementação.

We aim to analyse the text written by Eça de Queirós, “Carta ao Sr. Mollinet”, theorizing the stylistics of Marcel Cressot’s expression, called “the texture”. We discuss what is sought in the reading of a text nowadays: the form, the meaning or the form that produces meaning? Even though through stylistics there is identifi cation and description of the linguistic categories in the text, the morphological identifi cation in the enunciation level is emptied, if it is done separately. It is from the semantic-syntactic and melodic axes that Eça infl ates his characters with life. The characterization of Pacheco and Portuguese people is supported by the nexus, a producer of antagonistic meta-signifi cation in relation to the fi rst meaning. Eça’s irony results from the reverse meaning – from “ne pas dire”. The nexus is the great meaningful cohesion between logical and metalogic discourse – producing new signifi cations; multiplying verbal resources, which are created in order to metamorphose the linguistic sign into pictorial or iconic signs. The irony governs the whole constructive tessitura that stems from new referents, which result from demiurgical relations between themselves because of the metalogical process, as it allows to establish and change the direction when sign and referent, signifi er and signifi ed, utterance and context are related. The analysis of Eça’s selected text enriches the discoveries presented by the Stylistics of Expression.

The region Indiara (GO) is located in southwestern of São Francisco Craton in the Internal Zone of the Brasília Belt, western part of the Tocantins Province. In this locality outcrop rocks of the Goiás Magmatic Arc. These rocks are muscovite gneiss with biotite, muscovite-biotite gneiss, biotite gneiss with muscovite and garnet, biotite-muscovite gneiss, muscovite porfiroclastic gneiss, biotite porfiroclastic gneiss, muscovite-quartz schists, garnetquartz schists, and metamafic rock (hornblende schists) as metric or kilometric lenses. The gneisses have granodioritic composition, granoblastic texture, with some portions with lepidoblastic texture, constituting a discontinuous centimeter to millimeter banding; the structure is anisotropic, marked by the preferred orientation of all the minerals. These gneisses are leucocratic, generally are inequigranular and fine to medium grained. The hornblende schists have nematoblastic texture, are inequigranular and fine to medium grained and have anisotropic structure that is given by a foliation, marked by a strong preferential orientation of the crystals of amphibole and other minerals present in the rock. The gneisses of the area are composed of plagioclase (oligoclase/andesine), quartz, microcline, muscovite, biotite, epidote, apatite, zircon, garnet, kyanite, oxides and hydroxides of iron and opaque minerals. And the metamafic rocks of Indiara region are composed mainly of amphibole, plagioclase (oligoclase/andesine), quartz, titanite, biotite, allanite, garnet, oxides and hydroxides of iron, apatite, epidote, rutile, muscovite and opaque minerals. At least three phases of deformation were observed in the rocks of area of study (Dn-1, Dn and Dn +1). The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of processing two corn hybrids conserved, dry and humid grains, the dry matter (DM) and crude protein (CP) degradability in situ. The particle size was determined and difference was verified in MGD (Medium Geometric Diameter) of processed ingredients. Three sheep were used with rumen canulated, in a completely randomized design, using a factorial outline 2 x 2 x 3, being two corn hybrid, two conservation methods and three processing forms (whole, coarsely and finely ground), with five times of incubation (3, 6, 12, 24 and 48 hours). The fraction A in SDC (silage of dent corn) of DM was superior to GDC (grain of dent corn) in all of the particles size. The ensiling process increased the DM solubility, reducing the fraction B in comparison to dry grain. The values regarding the fractions DP and DE the 5% per hour of the protein, were larger for SDC and GDC, it presents a decreasing when the incubation time advances. The fermentation rate was superior for SDC and GDC. The ensiling process has positive effect in the decreasing of DM and CP in comparison to GDC.

Agricultural mechanization improved the efficiency of field operations by providing an increase in crop production. The intensified mechanization, however, has led to higher energy use mainly in the area of fuel consumption. The objective of this study was to compare the fuel consumption of tractors using two different tire pressures for two different types of soil during tillage with irrigated cotton in semi-arid regions. These tests were performed at the Maricopa Agricultural Center (MAC), an experimental farm belonging to The University of Arizona with a Case 4x2 TDA 88kW equipped with an autopilot system. The results showed lower fuel consumption using a tire pressure of 124 kPa on sandy clay loan soil.

Soil bulk density is an attribute often used to characterize soil physical structure, being an indicator of soil compaction. The objective of this study was to compare the values ​​of bulk density measured by the paraffin sealed clod and volumetric ring methods in conventional, no-tillage and minimum tillage systems on a Dystroferric Red Nitosol, clayey, in Botucatu, SP. The experiment design was a 3x2 factorial arrangement in randomized block with four replications. The density values ​​obtained by the paraffin sealed clod method were statistically higher than those obtained by the volumetric ring method. There was no difference between the managements when comparing the values ​​of soil density obtained by the paraffin sealed clod method. The soil under conventional management showed lower density when comparing the values ​​of soil density obtained by the volumetric ring. The volumetric ring method was more sensitive to show differences between the management systems than the paraffin sealed clod method.

The quality and efficiency in straw cutting are determinants in the sowing process, according to the occurrence of "tamp" and stops, the magnitude of the straw removal or even the known effects of the seed "envelopment" where the cutting mechanism can not cut the remaining straw. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of different mechanisms for straw cutting of a seeder individualized in different amounts of crop coverage artificially added in a clay soil. The experiment was conducted at Unesp – Sao Paulo State University in the Experimental Farm Lageado, belonging to the College of Agricultural Sciences - Unesp, Botucatu. The experimental design was split plot with four replications, with main plots consisting of five quantities of black oat straw, in area with no-tillage system and subplots of three opening furrows mechanisms, which are: plane disk (PD), corrugated disk (CD) and wavy disk (WD). The wavy disk provided greater rolling resistance, reducing the speed of the set (tractor and equipment). The plane cutting disk showed the highest values of mobilized soil area, deeper penetration into the soil, requiring lower values of vertical force and higher values of lateral force. Regarding the type of waste and doses used, they offered no resistance to cutting and there was no change in the horizontal force on straw.

This study aimed to evaluate the hydrothermal effect on conservation of two jabuticaba fruits, Myrciaria jabuticaba Vell. Berg. Fruits were subjected to thermal treatment by 10 min at 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 ºC and wrapped into expanded polystyrene trays, stored at 9 ºC and 85-90% RH, being evaluated every 5 d. Shelf life, weight loss, respiratory rate, soluble solids, titrable acidity, texture, C vitamin, pH, total and soluble pectin and polypheno loxidase activity were evaluated. Lower shelf life was observed for control treatment (31 d) and largest was found at 15, 20 and 25 ºC (45 d). A sligthly delay was observed in the breathing pick at 15, 20 and 25 ºC at 25 d and not in the 20 d as observed in the other treatments. Soluble solids increased with storage time for all of temperature treatment, but at 15, 20 and 25 ºC increase was smaller. Texture an C vitamin were higher in fruits stored at 25 ºC. Soluble pectin was smaller at the end of storage period, at temperatures of 20 and 25 ºC. Polyphenoloxidase activity decreased along 30 d regardless storage temperature. Treatments at 20 and 25 ºC were the most effective for mainteining posthaverst quality of the jabuticaba fruits.
