Research partly motivated by Lewis Carroll's Euclid and his modern rivals (1879) portuguese translation, this paper presents some hermeneutical remarks taken as necessary to understand the context in which such book was produced. The paper focuses particularly on education, in general, and on the teaching of mathematics and Geometry in victorian England.

The Literary adaptation for television miniseries are present in the schedule grids of Brazilian television channels. We can afford that it is about a line of production of the most relevant in the two main television networks that maintain a project of teledramaturgy. The Strong presence of miniseries imposes the need to investigate the process of intersemiotic translation from the literary text to the audiovisual text on the way to reflect the esthetics of these productions in front of the constants process of tecnology mutation. In this sense the goal of this research is to analize the book adaptation O canto da sereia for television, where we identify the discursivas strategies that structure the narrativity, the themes and the figures that enable the identification with the original literary text

O presente trabalho faz uma análise de anúncios publicitários onde são utilizados elementos da folkcomunicação na construção da linguagem publicitária. Empregando a pesquisa bibliográfica e documental buscamos evidenciar quais são esses elementos e como eles são apropriados pela linguagem publicitária. Os conceitos da folkcomunicação, na área da publicidade, mostram que, na realidade, os “comunicadores folclóricos” traduzem os conteúdos complexos dos meios de comunicação de massa e os interpretam segundo valores tradicionais das camadas populares, conforme conceitos definidos por Luiz Beltrão. Essa tradução faz a aproximação com o público tão almejada pela publicidade, criando espaços de entendimento e de consumo dos bens ofertados. Nesta pesquisa, foi possível demonstrar como, em várias situações publicitárias, as apropriações dos conceitos folk são incorporados na e pela linguagem da publicidade.

The storytelling is central to the early literacy of children, part of the objectives for the entire kindergarten. The story circle or storytelling is important and helpful in cognitive and emotional development of children, including the ones with disabilities. Seeking communicational accessibility, the aim of this work is to make the book "O Penuginha" by Luiz Vitor Martinello available in LIBRAS (Brazilian Sign Language). To facilitate the achievement of this objective, it was considered appropriate to develop a descriptive study following the methodology of qualitative research, to search for literature on how learning takes place in the Portuguese language by deaf students. This study resulted in a DVD with video recordings, the translation of the book "O Penuginha" in LIBRAS and the narration of the book in Portuguese. Therefore, this research is relevant because the paradigm of the twenty first century is the inclusion of all people in different scenarios and the school is one of the first places where the removal of barriers is essential.

This paper describes the development of educational materials on media education as a result of workshops held for students and teachers of high school in Midialab – Media Education Laboratory of Universidade Sagrado Coração. The objectives of this exploratory research were to investigate how teachers and students learn about media, looking for similarities and differences in the performance of the two groups in order to make it possible to conclude what methodology frameworks had a best result for promoting the media literacy of each group, taking on account the characteristics of public school and the paradigms of international media literacy. The methodology involved the application of activities focusing on six strategies: textual analysis, contextual analysis, content analysis, case study, translation, simulation and production. The results suggested that such activities are a productive way to develop critical reading skill and to reduce the differences between teachers and students’ repertoire. They also presented good results in the development of language usage by them and promoted collaborative learning, in a social approach.

We provide conservative translations from propositional modal logic KT (the simplest normal alethic logic) into propositional modal logic KD (the simplest normal deontic logic), and from this into the propositional modal logic K (the simplest normal logic simpliciter). Following an idea discussed by Jaakko Hintikka, these conservative translations are based on the third formulation of Kantian categorical imperative, the formulation of the Kingdom of Ends.
