La construcción de un tipo iconográfico : La figura de Juan Manuel de Rosas en la prensa opositora

Este trabajo presenta un análisis de carácter tanto plástico como semántico de la producción visual expuesta a través de la técnica litográfica en dos periódicos de la prensa antirrosista: El Grito Arjentino y Muera Rosas, editados en Montevideo entre los años 1839 y 18421. Dadas las numerosas litografías que formaron parte de estos periódicos de circulación clandestina se ha realizado una selección temática en función del tratamiento y construcción de un tipo iconográfico de la figura de Rosas. Este tipo iconográfico se construye a partir de la selección de atributos que se relacionan directamente con las acciones que ambos periódicos se dedican a denunciar través de los recursos retóricos que constituyen el grotesco y la sátira.

This paper presents an analysis of plastic and semantic character of the exposed visual production through the lithographic technique in newspapers of the antirrosista press: El Grito Argentino and Muera Rosas, published in Montevideo between years 1839 and 18421. Given the numerous lithographies that appeared in these baned newspapers of clandestine circulation a thematic selection has been done based on the treatment and construction of an iconographic type of the figure of Rosas. This iconographic type is constructed from the selection of characteristics that are directly related to the actions that both these newspapers denounce through the rhetorical resources that constitute the grotesque and the satire.
