Students’ movement and participation in Latin-American psychology: historical and future perspectives

The historiographical paper presented is about the students’ activism and participation in the Latin American psychology. This aims are: 1) to provide a brief historic overview of the Latin American psychology; 2) to review on the students’ participation in the Latin American psychology; 3) to raise students’ future perspectives for the Latin American psychology. It is recognized that there is an extensive past of Latin American psychology and an emerging historiographical work that re fl ects that past.However, there are several historiographical gaps not covered yet by the investigations in the region. In this context, this paper wants to contribute to the study of the students’ activism and participation in the Latin American psychology construction. The historical perspective is supported by the renewed historiographical conception called instant history” which focuses on ancient and recent history at the same time. Indirect sources were used: articles, monographs and compiled editions.

En este artículo se presenta un trabajo historiográfico referido al movimiento y la participación estudiantil en la psicología latinoamericana. Los objetivos son:  1) presentar un breve anorama histórico de la psicología latinoamericana; 2) reseñar el movimiento y la participación estudiantil en la psicología latinoamericana; 3) plantear las futuras perspectivas estudiantiles para la psicología latinoamericana. Aunque se reconoce que existe un extenso pasado de psicología latinoamericana y una incipiente labor historiográfi ca que da cuenta de él, se detectan vacíos historiográfi cos aún no cubiertos por las diversas investigaciones llevadas a cabo en la región. En este sentido, este artículo intenta contribuir con esa labor historiográfica, al estudiar el movimiento y la  participación estudiantil en la psicología latinoamericana. La perspectiva histórica que lo sustenta se apoya en la renovada concepción historiográfi ca llamada historia inmediata que aborda tanto los aspectos remotos como recientes de la historia. Las fuentes documentales utilizadas fueron, en su mayoría, de segunda mano entre ellas, artículos, monográficos y ediciones compiladas.
