ABSTRACT - From the text of S. Kierkegaard The Crisis and a Crisis in the Life of an Actress, we will begin an analyses of what most important in the work of and actor and in theatre. We will begin this investigation by a description and analyses of the fundamental characteristics that constitute a young actress of eighteen years old, to show, by a comparison of those terms with an analyses of what constitutes theatre, how this actress is not yet in the possession of what is essential in the work of an actor. After that, we will analyse what is then required to be an essential actor and we will see how Kierkegaard’s text has, in its core, an edifying tension that uses the actor as a symbol of what life should be. |
